Education: B.Sc., 1974 (Universitat de Barcelona); Ph.D., 1979 (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona = UAB). Appointments: Assistant Professor at UAB (1974-1976), Associated Professor at UAB (1976-1986), Professor at UAB since 1986, Visiting Professor at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory- NASA (1988), Contract with the European Space Agency (1984-1988), Visiting Professor at Northwestern University in 1991 and 2001, Excellent Visiting Professor at the Universidade de Sao Paulo (2014-2016) and at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2014-2016) Main fields of research and artistic creation: My research is mainly in the following three areas: (1) Qualitative theory of differential equations, (2) Celestial Mechanics and Hamiltonian systems, and (3) Discrete dynamical systems. Publications: More than 840 peer-reviewed articles, 18 books, and supervisor of 29 Ph.D. theses. Awards and honors: ICREA Academic (2009-2014, Generalitat de Catalunya), Narcís Monturiol medal to the scientific merit (2015, Generalitat de Catalunya).
